From Chris:
I really enjoyed this exercise. The melody came easily out of the words to me. The recording and capturing of it took less than an hour. I always end up loving the result of things that happen quickly like this before my mind has time to overthink them.
To be honest I'm not entirely sure [what the lyrics are talking about]. I was able to connect emotionally through the melody and tone of the tune without doing too much thinking about the lyrics. They are a bit cryptic which I like, as that always makes for an open slate for interpretation and personalization. The sense I get is that a sacrifice has occurred, and nature was complicit in it.
